Medium Trees

An upright conical habit, erupts into a dense green canopy in the spring. Reaching a maximum height of 15m this tree transitions into a display of yellow and red as it prepares to shut down for the winter. Will tolerate most soils and requires full sun/partial shade.

Betula lenta (commonly known as sweet birch, black birch, or cherry birch) is a medium-sized deciduous tree native to eastern North America. It is most famous for its strong wintergreen aroma, which is released whenever the twigs, leaves, or bark are crushed

The river birch or black birch as it's commonly known, is a deciduous tree reaching a mature height of around 16m. The flaky bark makes this an attractive tree even during the winter. Although this tree is adapted to wetlands and floodplains, it will be more than happy in most soil types but does need to be in direct sunlight.

Robinia pseudoacacia 'Frisia' (commonly known as the Golden Robinia or Golden False Acacia) is a medium-sized deciduous tree famous for its vibrant, glowing yellow leaves. It is widely used as a stunning focal point to bring instant brightness and a dramatic splash of colour to gardens. Reaches a maximum height of around 15 meters.

This common whitebeam will achieve a maximum height of around 10 meters. Leaves emerge in spring as a silvery white colour and gradually transition to a greeny/grey. The canopy is complimented with white flowers in May, that turn into orange/red berries in the autumn. Requires a well drained soil, and prefers a chalky loam but will tolerate any soil that doesn't get water logged.

These develop into bright red flowers in autumn, perfect for feeding the birds through the winter. Although it will prefer a light, well drained soil, this mountain ash will tolerate all soil types.

This mountain ash is a deciduous tree with oval crown. Its green canopy is complimented by white flowers in the spring. These develop into orange and red berries that provide food for the birds into the winter. Foliage turns an attractive orange as the tree shuts down for winter.

The rowan, a deciduous tree with a loose canopy. Reaching a maximum height of around 10 meters. Pinnate leaves emerge either side of a central vein joined by clusters of white flowers in late spring. These develop into orange/red berries in early autumn, perfect for feeding the birds through the winter. The tree will thrive in a light, well-drained soil, it will tolerate a heavier soil.
